Our purpose is being a wholeness community where hope is found, restoration realized, and disciples raised up to make a lasting difference in our area and the world
We do this through:
Exaltation: Worship
Embrace: Fellowship and Ministry
Empowering: Prayer and Discipleship
Engage: Community Involvement
Evangelism: Outreach
We pray that Christian Assembly fulfills its purpose in your life and this community as we grow together in the unity and knowledge of the faith, becoming mature attaining the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (Ephesians 4:13)
You will soon notice that our worship patterns may be different to what many may not be accustomed to. Here you will find a more relaxed attitude and informal setting for worship. You will notice The Lifting of the Hands. The basis for this is Psalm 134:2, “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord.”
Clapping of hands is another aspect of our worship. Psalm 47:1 tells us, “O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.” We encourage our people to worship as the Bible tells us. The lifting of the hands and clapping are pronounced Biblical forms of worship.
Also, we Anoint the Sick with Oil according to James 5:14, “Is any sick among you? Let him call the elders of the church: and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith shall heal the sick.” We certainly are grateful for the medical profession; however, the Lord admonishes us to anoint with oil and pray for the sick to be healed
In conjunction with the gifts of the Spirit, which we believe are in operation today, we may Speak in Tongues, which we believe are still in operation for today. Following a public speaking in tongues by someone, the interpretation of that tongue is given publicly according to I Corinthians 12-14.
At times there may just a speaking forth in our English language, which is not a part of the sermon, but which exhorts, instructs, praises God or encourages the people. This is known as Prophecy as discussed in I Corinthians 14.
We trust this will aid you in understanding the New Testament form of worship, and that you will find it to be a blessing in your life.
